Welcome to the FoundrForge Journal

Notes, playbooks, and honest lessons from the front lines of building a co-founder matching platform for Indian founders.

By Harish S E

Welcome to the FoundrForge Journal.

This is where we will write — plainly, without spin — about the actual craft of finding a co-founder in India. What works, what does not, what nearly killed us, and what we would tell our younger, more caffeinated selves.

What you'll find here

We'll publish two kinds of pieces:

1. Playbooks. How to write a founder profile that gets replies. How to have the equity conversation before you have the equity conversation. How to spot a scam pitch before you lose a week. These are the guides we wish someone had handed us when we were staring at a blank co-founder search.

2. Field notes. What we're learning while building FoundrForge itself. The numbers behind conversion. The tradeoffs of a paywall. The DPDP Act, live-fire. The parts of India's startup scene most public writing pretends don't exist.

Why we're doing this

Because Indian founders are underserved by the current writing on co-founder matching. Most of it is either:

  • Translated Silicon Valley thinking that ignores how starting up in India actually looks, or
  • Vague inspiration that doesn't help you decide anything on a Tuesday.

We're going to try to be neither. Short posts. Real specifics. Honest tradeoffs.

What we won't do

  • We won't name and shame other platforms. There's a whole ecosystem, and every one of them exists because a founder needed something. We'll write about patterns, not people.
  • We won't publish anything that's essentially a sales pitch dressed as a guide. If a piece is really about our product, we'll say so upfront.
